so.. what the hell is an iteration anyway?

i feel confident many of you know what an iteration is but just for clarification here's a quick definition.

the repetition of a sequence of computer instructions a specified number of times or until a condition is met.

that's straight from the mouth of merriam webster. the iteration series ( yes i am making it a series of mixes ) was born in 2000 back in my frankenstien equipment days. using cheap cd players, a pyle 4 channel mixer, a set of technics, and an ibanez 1000 i combined aphex twin's ambient works and dj swamp's locked groove series to create something strange and hypnotic.

almost 7 years later i have been through several musical evolutions but have not forgotten about that mix. using a different set of techincs, serato scratch, ableton live, and a rane mixer i have decided to do it right. it should be noted that i also used to mix everything down to a tape deck and now i just record straight in to my other pc.

a little clarification on the live pa. i did drop a few full tracks from ambient works but most of this content is loop based and sample driven. i did not create those beats from scratch they are pieces of tracks i pulled out and tweaked up generally working with 5-10 seconds of material.
